An active student is one you've marked as paid — the point at which they get full access to the platform. You're only billed for active students. Anyone who's registered but not yet active costs you nothing.

Yes. Register or import as many students as you like at no cost. Billing starts for a student only once you activate them — so you're never paying ahead of your own fee collection.

No setup fee. Every new centre gets 30 days free from the day it signs up — set up your classes, invite staff and activate students at no charge. When the trial ends, the month it ends in is invoiced for the students you have active, and you're billed on the 1st of each month from there. If your trial ends in the last 10 days of a month, that month is free too and billing starts the following month.

Two ways. They can sign up themselves at your portal (yourcentre.thegryd.org), or you can add them — one at a time, or in bulk from a spreadsheet. Added students receive a default password to change on first login. Either way, you decide when they go active.

You can run them. Build a question bank across ten question types — multiple choice, true/false, short answer, numeric, fill-in-the-blank, matching, ordering, essay, and file upload — or import a whole bank from an Excel workbook. Assemble a paper, publish it through a preflight check, and students sit it on their own devices. Objective questions mark themselves; essays and uploads land in a marking queue for a tutor. You release the results when you're ready.

It's the layer that gives students a reason to keep turning up: XP for work actually done, levels, streaks with freezes for the day they couldn't make it, badges awarded automatically, leagues and house tables, challenges and weekly quests, and coins they spend in a rewards shop you stock yourself. It all sits behind one switch — leave it off and Gryd is a straight administration platform.

That's why it's built with brakes. Daily and weekly caps stop anyone grinding to the top. There's a most-improved board alongside the top-ten, so progress counts and not just position. And the class feed carries only good news — no scores, no ranks, no broken streaks, by construction. Rewards are funded and approved by you, never issued by Gryd.

Yes. Define your periods and rooms, build the timetable against them, then take the register lesson by lesson — including lateness — and read it back as an attendance report. Tutors get their own timetable and their own registers, without seeing anyone else's.

Yes. Set your own grade schemes and grade structures, keep the gradebook in step with every assessment as the term runs, and generate report cards from it at the end — plus term certificates for students the engagement engine says earned one.

No — one comes with it. Compose your home page from ready-made section designs, list your programmes, and publish to your branded subdomain. That page is also where students and parents register, so your site and your platform never drift apart.

No. You set up your centre, branches, and terms in a guided flow, and your branded portal goes live on your own subdomain straight away. If you can run a WhatsApp group and a spreadsheet, you can run Gryd.

Yes. Import your current students and classes from a spreadsheet, and your question bank from an Excel workbook, so you start with your data rather than a blank slate — no re-typing a term's worth of records by hand.

Each institution's data is kept separate, and access is controlled by role — a tutor sees only their classes, a parent sees only their own child, and only the people you authorise can see fees. You stay in control of who sees what.
